With a view to strengthening our team, we are looking for a communicative, assertive and customer-oriented individual to perform an important interface role. As a

Glass melting / Furnace / Batch house Engineer

you will drive forward the optimisation, standardisation and automation of recycling, exhaust gas purification, batch and melting operations at Group level. You successfully completed a university degree and already gained many years of practical experience in container glass production.

Your main tasks will include:

• Coordinating and ensuring the transfer of know-how
• Assessing and working on investment projects within the specialist department in close cooperation
     with the glassworks
• Ensuring maximum standardisation of production and testing equipment
• Identifying, selecting, auditing and onboarding alternative suppliers
• Evaluating innovations within the specialist department, including running tests
• Enhancing and optimising product changeovers at the glassworks
• Assisting with troubleshooting, data acquisition, analysis and optimisation
• Working on group projects and organising specialist conferences and training courses
• Writing specifications for:
         - Exhaust filters
         - Fireproof materials
         - Batch house - Recycling facilities
         - Furnaces, working ends and forehearths

Your qualifications:

• University degree in glass/ceramics
• Several years of practical experience in the container glass industry, preferably in batch and
      melting operations
• Experience in customer service and consulting
• Very good English skills, other foreign languages are an advantage
• Very good MS Office skills as well as a good knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Project

Living in the european region, you are an agile and honest individual, between 30 and 35 years with excellent interpersonal skills, a clear customer focus and a target-oriented approach. You have an assertive attitude, are able to work well under pressure and appreciate the value of a good teamwork. You see technically complex problems as a challenge and are focusing on solving them.

The position involves a significant travel element (approx. 60%), predominantly within Vetropack Group, and requires a high degree of flexibility in this regard.
